Arcane Publishers Edition Vol. 10 : LOST ART.... 20 images highest resolution JPEGS,(6 x 7 inches @ 300 dpi), With download size in mind these were formatted in Photoshop's highest setting for JPEG (photo standard). Easily convertable to Tiff in RGB format, though painted in CMYK.

The Lost Art collection was literally that, done 6 years ago for a now defunct and discontinued game. PDF enclosed explaining the re-painting process and how/where/why the images were lost in the first place. All paintings in full color, this is a collection of Machines of war and images of champions, mostly Dwarves, but some can easily be seen as human.

I hope you find this collection useful, and the art can be used as interiors or even covers for PDFs.

~ V Shane

As far as manipulation, while most of the center of the image stays in tact, in other words, characters NOT completely cut out of their background. Adding effects and ragged edges to an image is fine,as long its 80% in tact. Images can't be altered to the effect the cease to represent the original work, color/hue and contrast can be changed, but nothing that effects the work to the point that it becomes unrecognizable as my work. Converting to b/w and scaling is a given. The work cannot be transferred to merchandise for the sole purpose of merchandising images, nor can they be resold as a collection of art, nor as a part or backgrounds of another artists work.

If you have any other questions, feel free to email me.

thank you,
~ V Shane

On the whole, I like V Shane's artwork, but traditionally it hasn't always been the greatest. But the price per picture has always made it worth the purchase. So I was skeptical when this one didn't have any preview. I've been wondering whether I shoul [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
