Like other ship books for the Clement Sector this book contains much more than just a bunch of ships, deck plans, and specs. There are NPCs, adventure hooks, along with history of several ships.

Skull and Crossbones: Piracy in Clement Sector Third Edition
Publisher: Independence Games
by Richard N. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 02/17/2018 18:51:39

A great adventure with a colurful set of pre-generated characters. This is good for both a short adeventure (just do the race) or as part of a larger campaign. It outlines not only the other priate groups in the race, but some new ships and provides details for several systems. And as always teh Clement Sector books, there is plenty of story and background included in the book.

Both entertaining and useful, what more can you want from a book? The 21 pirate groups outlined in the book, including the ships, motivations, and personalities of each group are a great addition to any campaign.

Ships of Clement Sector 4-6: Traders, Scouts and Small Craft
Publisher: Independence Games
by Richard N. [Verified Purchaser]

With this book you get everything you would expect based upon the title and description, and then a whole lot more.

  • A plethora fo ships of differnet types and sizes? Check!
  • Deck plans for each ship? Check!
  • Detailed specs of each ship? Check!

There are over 10 different classes of ships, many with veriations (like the 4 different fighters) with all the supporting documentation that you would expect. But then Gypsy Knight Games goes not one, but two steps futher. They provide stories, background, and hostories for many of the ships. There are NPCs named unique ships, plot hooks, and even adventure seeds in the book as well. For example there is the Star Hawk Jinsokuna Chirashi-class Yacht as seen on the populr vid shot Superpirate! along with a full crew, and adventure hooks. The book is well written and provides way more than a list of ships for you to use in your game.

D66 Compendium 2
Publisher: Mongoose
by Richard N. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 08/06/2016 14:50:35

I purchased the first compendium some time ago and found it to be an awesome tool for helping with adding flavor to my campaign. I use it at least once or twice every session and when I am preparing. So when I saw that the 2nd was out I snagged it right awayand was pleasntly surprised to see that they "kicked it up a notch" this time around. Not only are there pages and pages of names for everything from people to pets to famous space battles to recreational drugs, they have added D66 Event tables for careers to use during character creation! And they are awesome! I would highly recommend this (and the 1st one!) to anyone who has ever had that moment when a player asks "So, what is the name of...." and you drew a blank.

Top quality work as expected from Moon Toad. Book comes with deck plans for 4 variations of the classic Type S as well as all the details you could possibly want. The walk-around descriptions of the different versions are excellent and it comes with a fully fleshed out ship, crew, and adventure seeds. And of course the renders of the different ships are top notch. Highly reccomened this book to anyone looking to really dig in to the Type S.

Quick Decks Full Bundle [BUNDLE]
Publisher: DSL Ironworks
by Rich N. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 03/24/2015 10:57:31

I really like the Quick Decks and the entire concept of them. They are pretty easy and straight forward to use, look great, and if you print on nice heavy paper, will have a pretty good life span, even longer if you decide to laminate. There doesn't seem to be any limitation as to what you can build with these products as long as it has a "typical design" (ie: Is not an "organic" ship, has typical sections, etc). It you wanted to depict uneven walls or strange shaped rooms as you might find in a ship that was mined from an asteroid, it might take some creative work on your part since all the tiles have straight walls. But you could easily depict the insides of a ship made from an asteroid that have been "finished."

Also, keep in mind that many of the sections can easily be used for things other than ships. Hallways, state rooms, barracks, armories, cargo hold areas, etc. can all be used for regular buildings, starports, or even space stations.

The only suggestions I have to make the products better would be to include directions on how to build a common ship, like a Type S scout. Which pages you need to print, which parts to cut out, and how to arrange them. This could really help some people who might look at all the parts and get overwhelmed. Also, possibly include an index with thumbnails to make it easier to find particular components.

But those are just minor quibbles when you consider all the cool stuff you can do with this bundle.
