DDAL07-01 A City on the Edge (5e)

This adventure is best suited for players who are completely new to dungeons and dragons. It presents a set of options for players to pursue and has things unfold in ways that are inline with several of the major tropes of DnD. However, the set of 5 take longer to run than an hour each, new players will likely only complete 2 in a 4 hour session. This makes the adventure slow and unrewarding for players who are either just making new characters for adventure league or who want to get right into the action. Some minor summary and lite [spoilers] follow

Characters have to investigate misterious deaths leading to a fight with a necromancer under a ziggarat Characters can participate in a dinosaur race which ends in a cage match with velociraptors. The characters need to investigate an underground smuggling operation to find a piece of a magic amulet

This is the most unique module I have run in AL. It very much is what the title says and builds a great picture of the fantastical nature of port nyanzaru. At the start it seems to be a nice fun but relaxing day for the players but they are thrust without being forced into a wild ride of skillchecks that create an exiting tension between them and the challenge they are facing. It does a great job of unifying the players to a common goal. helping them to work together for a common goal more objectively than just combat does.

DDAL07-04 A Walk in the Park (5e)

This module starts off a bit confusing. The partie's motivation to continue from the previous adventure is a little forced. The complications do not build together logically until the party makes it outside of the city. The time in the jungle and the rules for the complications of traveling are great, it creates a good sense of atmosphere for the players and an anticipation for whats ahead. However, without running the next module immediately after this the conclusion leaves a lot to be desired and leaves the players confused with what they've accomplished.

This adventure ties into the previous one DDAL7-04 very well and does a great Job of both creating intrigue into the history of Dendar the Night serpent while still giving closure to the adventure. The complications when the party arrives and the primary encounter are both interesting and challenging. These are both also easy to adjust depending on the strength of the party.
